Nijhum Dwip National Park protects a mosaic of keora-dominated woodland, grassland, canal, mudflat and intertidal habitat. A 3,188 km² marine protected area declared around the island in 2019 extends conservation into surrounding waters. Migratory birds visit in winter; keep quiet and maintain distance when observing deer or birds.
How to get there
A commonly used mainland route crosses from Chairman Ghat in Noakhali to Nalchira on Hatiya, followed by local road and water transport. Vessel type and departure can change with weather, tide, navigability and official restrictions; confirm locally on the day and follow current safety notices.
