Notable Personalities

Hatiya's best-documented notable figures are largely political and academic. Mohammad Fazlul Azim, Amirul Islam Kamal and Mohammad Ali are among the Hatiya-origin politicians who have represented Noakhali constituencies in national politics. The island has also produced a younger generation making a name for itself outside politics and academia — Mohammad Jahidul Islam Joy, a singer, musician and online content creator born on Hatiya in 2004, is one example.
